Utilising whitening procedures, these teeth were initially lightened to the point where the patient was happy with their base colour. After whitening, the discoloured fillings are replaced and colour matched to create a brighter, more confident smile.

These chipped, stained and weakened teeth were re-built with porcelain veneers, creating a brighter, more pleasing and fuller smile.
During treatment, the patient wears temporary veneers to assess the shape and colour of the final result; thereby being able to “test drive” their new smile.
Providing feedback back to the dentist about their temporary veneers enables the patient to have the smile they have always wanted.

Patients with high smiles are now able to have a gum lift carried out to reduce the gumminess of their smile.
In combination with porcelain veneers, a brighter, fuller smile is able to be achieved.
The gum lift is carried out around two weeks prior to any porcelain veneer procedure. The procedure is performed in the dentists chair using comfortable numbing techniques.

This case shows a classic problem with an over-filled tooth – regular history of chipping and breaking. and finally there is no tooth left to rebuild.
Using advanced crown and bridge treatment, the tooth is simply removed; a temporary bridge is placed immediately, thus rebuilding the discoloured and heavily filled adjacent teeth.
At the end of two to three week healing period (during which time the patient has “test driven’ their new smile), a permanent porcelain bridge is constructed, creating the appearance that the missing tooth is present and growing out of its natural gum socket.

Traditional crowns have a metal base, preventing light penetrating the teeth and creating a “dead” look, often with dark gum lines.
Modern day technology enables us to construct all porcelain crowns that let the light through to create a more natural look and improved colour.
Porcelain crowns also mean the dark gum line associated with traditional crowns is a thing of the past.

Traditionally, the only option for this patient would have been braces.
Modern day procedures enables us to use porcelain veneers to straighten crowded teeth, lengthen short teeth and improve self confidence through a brighter, fuller smile.
Two appointments were required for this amazing transformation and the patient wore temporary veneers in between to confirm the colour and length that would suit him.
Only four teeth were treated yet, in combination with bleaching, a totally new smile is created.

For many years, the only filling material available was the silver amalgam filling. Research has shown this weakens teeth in large areas and is not aesthetic.
Current technology has enabled us to replace the old silver fillings with porcelain inlays that strengthen the teeth (to prevent fractures) and enables the dentist to restore the natural appearance of back teeth.
Gum health is also significantly improved as small ledges around silver fillings are removed and it becomes easier to floss.

Due to decay and refilling over the years, front teeth can become weakened and discoloured and are at risk of fracturing.
Using all porcelain crowns, the strength of the teeth is returned and their appearance improved dramatically with more natural, life- like porcelain.
The dark blue gum line is a thing of the past with porcelain crowns.
