On the day of your dental treatment, your health fund card is simply swiped through the HICAPS terminal by your dental provider. Your claim details are entered and in seconds the whole transaction is processed. Once your claim is authorised, you are only responsible for the balance or “Gap” payment. The difference between the full fee for the treatment and the amount claimed from your health fund. And there’s no more paperwork! No more queuing or fill in claim forms.

Medicare is able to provide dental assistance for approved patients referred to Close Dental through the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plans. Please be aware that it remains the Government’s intention to phase out the Enhanced Primary Care Medicare dental plan in order to make funding available for its new dental programs. Patients receiving services under the EPC scheme will be advised as soon as negotiations are complete. Medicare currently provides coverage of dental treatment for chronically ill patients under the care of GPs, Specialists and Dentists.
Teen Dental Vouchers: Holders of the Teen Dental Health Voucher are invited to reserve an appointment for a Preventative Care Check Up with a dentist and dental hygienist at Close Dental.
Close Dental welcomes current holders of the Department of Veterans Affairs, DVA Gold and White Cards, and Seniors Cards. Close Dental provides quality dental care to Veterans and their families. DVA card holders are able to receive their full treatment entitlements in accordance with the Department of Veterans Affairs schedules.
Members of our community aged 60 or over are eligible for either a Seniors Card or Seniors Business Discount Card, and holders will receive their quality dental treatment at a discounted rate.
As combined family members or as an individual, you may be entitled to a 20% rebate on the total of your medical, dental, optical and holistic medicine expenses exceeding the $1500.00 threshold per financial year. That is, the portion of the out of pocket expenses that you incur after receiving your private health fund insurance rebates (and Medicare rebates where applicable).
