Home Sleep Study Costs

How much will it cost?

The cost is $525 with a Medicare rebate of $279.70. This covers the cost of the home sleep study in the privacy of your home, a detailed report and diagnosis from the Sleep and Respiratory Physician. A follow up appointment with your dentist to discuss report and treatment options is also included.

What are the payment options?
Prepayment is required prior to your scheduled home sleep study.

How to schedule your home sleep study?
*After preliminary assessment by your dentist, your Home Sleep Study request form will be completed
*Our team can schedule an appointment for you with the Home Sleep Techician
*Allow 60 minutes for the Home Study Set-up in your own home
*Prepayment of $525 is required to secure your booking

What do I do on the day?
*Exercise and shower in the morning – you will not be able to shower after being fitted with the sleep study kit. However, you will be able to continue to do most activities such as driving, walking and watching television
*Wear a t-shirt that you feel comfortable sleeping in
*Men – Shave, especially over the jaw muscles. Beards are fine
*Women – No makeup, creams on face and body or dark finger nail polish
*Allow 60 minutes for set-up appointment in your own home
*Follow your normal pre-bedtime routine, which may include medications and alcohol

What happens the morning after?
*Remove all items (sticky electrodes, nasal airflow cannula, tape) and place in bag provided
*Pack everything inside the black briefcase
*Return the case to Close Dental before 10am
*The sleep data will be sent overnight to Home Sleep Studies Australia for reporting by a Sleep Scientist and Sleep Physician. If the data is not of sufficient quality, you will be notified within 48 hours and a repeat study will be offered at no extra cost
*A follow up appointment will be scheduled with your dentist to discuss the report and treatment options after 30 days under the instruction of the Respiratory Physician and Sleep Scientist.
*If requested, your GP will be sent a copy of the report.
*You will also be provided with a copy of your report

Can my GP or dentist request the sleep study directly?
YES.
